Case Study: Sock Sock Goose | A Shopify Website Redesign as Fun as the Socks

TL;DR: Jamie and Jessica hand tie-dye custom logo socks for schools, camps, and teams out of New Jersey. Their socks were full of color, but their Shopify website was a drab green with no pizzazz. In just a few weeks, we gave them a full Shopify website redesign: refined brand guidelines, a redesigned homepage, organized products, new Bulk & Custom, Fundraising, Care, and Gallery sections, and custom code to solve a Shopify product limit. The result is a website that finally looks and sounds like Sock Sock Goose.

The Situation

Jamie and Jessica are two friends with one simple goal: take boring everyday socks to the next level. Every pair of Sock Sock Goose socks is hand tie-dyed and finished with a custom logo, whether that's a school mascot, a camp name, or a team. No two pairs are ever the same.

Their socks were bursting with color and personality. Their website was not. It was a drab green, the homepage was hard to follow, and nothing about it hinted at how much fun this brand really is.

What Jamie and Jessica Needed

A Website With Their Personality

Sock Sock Goose is silly, colorful, and creative. They wanted a site that felt the same way, not a template that could belong to any other shop.

An Easier Way to Shop

The homepage was disorganized and products were hard to sort through. They wanted customers to land on the site and quickly find the pair that speaks to them.

Room for More Than Single Pairs

They also wanted pages for bulk ordering, fundraisers, sock care, and a gallery to show off their work.

How We Handled Sock Sock Goose's Shopify Website Redesign

Brand Guidelines That Actually Fit

We helped Jamie and Jessica narrow down their brand guidelines into something that truly represented Sock Sock Goose. We leaned all the way into their tie-dye color palette, pulling the same bright, swirling colors from their socks into every corner of the site. The result is bold, playful, and unmistakably theirs, a website that feels just as fun as opening a fresh pair. It's the same research first process behind all of our branding services in Queen Creek.

A Homepage That Tells the Story

We redesigned the flow of the homepage so it speaks directly to their customers. Visitors now see what makes the socks special, how custom logo orders work, and how schools and teams can use them for fundraising, all in an order that makes sense.

Organized Products and New Pages

We added and organized their products so shoppers can browse with ease. We also built out the new Bulk & Custom, Fundraising, Care, and Gallery sections. The gallery is full of photos showing off some seriously stylish looks.

Copy, SEO, and AEO

We helped write the copy for the new sections and built in SEO and AEO, so schools, camps, and teams searching for custom tie-dye socks can find them on Google and through AI tools. If you're wondering how AI search fits into your own site, our post on Answer Engine Optimization breaks it down.

No Stragglers Left Behind

Because we were updating an existing site, we went through every single section by hand to make sure nothing from the old design slipped through. One random hunter green section would totally ruin the vibe.

You can see the finished site at socksockgoose.com.

Before and After

The Homepage

Before: A big product photo and a muted sage green header.

After: A bright tie-dye backdrop, a playful headline, and a button that says "Treat Your Toes!"

Custom Orders

Before: One small homepage section, tucked under a nav with no way to find custom orders.

After: A full Custom & Bulk Orders page with its own spot in the nav and clear package deals.

Personality

Before: Clean product tiles, but nothing that felt like Sock Sock Goose.

After: A bright, playful shop page where every collection sits in its own rounded frame, so customers can scan Campus Style, Color War, Day Camps, and Just For Fun at a glance.

The Goose Gallery

We also added some new sections to the site. The old site had no gallery at all. Now customers can see the socks out in the wild, from camp bunks to game day bleachers.

The Battles Along the Way

Shopify only allows three options per product. For most stores that's plenty, but several Sock Sock Goose products also offer a color choice, which meant we needed a fourth.

Not to worry. We wrote custom code to add a color option, so customers can pick exactly what they want without any workarounds. Quirks like this are part of every platform, and we compare them in our post on the best platforms for starting an e-commerce business.

That's the kind of thing we love taking off our clients' plates. We sort out the tech so they can get back to making socks.

The Results

  • A full website makeover in just a few weeks

  • A bright, playful site that finally matches the brand

  • A homepage that guides customers instead of confusing them

  • New Bulk & Custom, Fundraising, Care, and Gallery sections live

  • Color selection working on every product that needs it

  • Jamie and Jessica are already telling their friends about us

It's still early for numbers, and we'll share an update once the data comes in. In the meantime, here's what Jamie and Jessica had to say:

"We are so happy we found Tori and Brittney at The Steward's Ink! They really took the time to understand who we are as a company, our vision, and the tone and personality we wanted for our website. We honestly felt like they just got us from the start, and that came through in every part of the finished site! Their attention to detail was amazing, and they were quick, efficient, and incredibly thorough throughout the whole process. They made everything so easy, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We can't wait to work with them again and have already been telling our friends about them. Highly recommend!!" Jamie and Jessica, Sock Sock Goose

Why This One Means So Much to Us

This is one of our favorite projects to date. After all, who doesn't love a makeover?

Jamie and Jessica are so fun and vibrant, and helping them bring their vision to life was a blast. We had way too much fun going back and forth with them, adding little touches until everything felt just right.

When you get to work with clients who are this passionate about what they do, it makes you want to pour that same energy into the work. We hope it shows in every corner of their new site.

Is Your Website Not Really You?

Maybe you already have a website, but it doesn't feel like your brand. The colors are off, the words don't sound like you, and it's missing the personality that makes your business special.

You're not stuck with it. A Shopify website redesign can take what you already have and turn it into something that feels like you. Learn more about our web design services in Queen Creek, or read what to look for in web design companies with e-commerce expertise.
